Self Portrait   Title: Self-portrait 2000 [view painting]

Description: This painting was done at a time when Abba Father said I was released to paint portraits, and that I should begin with my own.

On the right side, in the background above my left shoulder, the image of the head of a female lion appeared. This really pleased me, as I’ve known for years that I am a Daughter of the Lion.  I began to wonder if this would be a hallmark of the portraits I would do - that each one would somehow incorporate a symbolic image of the person’s true identity

Title: Lion of Judah #4  Summer
Lion
[view painting]

Description: One winter day, I was amazed to see from our den window the clear face of a lion in the bark of a tree in the back yard.  The tree trunk was slightly behind another, and it gave the impression the lion was peeking out from hiding.  It was such an unusual hourglass shape that I sketched it, and kept it to pray over. It was months later that I knew what to do with it.  In the meantime I had many thoughts and ideas.  I would do a batik.  I would do a silk fabric painting.  I would make worship banners with the image on them.  I thought of many things, but the Lord kept urging me to paint.  Finally, I gave in.  (I can be very stubborn!)

Title: The Verdict  from John 3:19 [view painting]

Description: "And this is the verdict, that Light has come into the world, but men received it not.  They preferred the darkness, because their deeds were evil.” The viewer stands even deeper in the cave in identification with those who are pictured here.  Jesus has come in the almost blinding light of His love, and the people are all turning away in shame and despair and horror.  One man covers his mind with his hand, refusing to even think about Who this is.  With his hand on his wife’s shoulder, he ensures that she also turns away.  Another cringes against the cave wall as the Light touches him, and he screams as if being burned by it.

Title: Adonai Watches Over the Path of the Righteous [view painting]

Description: The viewer stands looking toward heaven.  The path is open.  At either side of the Way, angels step forth into the realm of visibility from heavenly planes.  These are Guardian angels, watchers and protectors.  Each is as some portion of the world’s people might see them, somewhat in appearance like themselves.

Title: The Lion of Judah and the
Intercessor
[view painting]

Description: So, the imagery here is the intercessor carrying the burdens of the saints who cry out to our Lord, coming with the Lion of Judah Who is responding to their needs.  He comes in answer to our prayers.
The intercessor, although in facial bone structure Caucasian, is almost entirely done in shades of purple, and intended to represent prayer warriors of all colors.  Her hair is flaming fire, and the smoke from it arises as does the smoke from the incense in the bowls.

Prints available for purchase: printed image 12"x14 3/8", signed giclee on archival paper, $75.00

Title: Waiting for You Now [view painting]

Description: From the private collection of Ken and Harriet Wehr.  Harriet is a dear friend of mine whose father passed away many years before his beloved wife.  I did this for her memorial service from photos of them when they were young, and then asked the Lord for His eyes to see them shiningly content, together in heaven.  There are over a hundred images in this one.  I think Harriet's last count was 127.
